Twenty-three African teams were among the 141 nations competing at the five-day global championships, where eight African countries combined for an impressive 32 medals.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Kenya led the continental charge with 11 medals, finishing second overall behind hosts and champions the United States, who topped the table with 74 medals. Ethiopia followed among the African teams with six medals, including two golds, while South Africa won eight, including one gold.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Morocco and Uganda claimed two medals each, while Algeria, Egypt and Nigeria each celebrated a gold.
