Their voices, ideas and aspirations must be at the heart of the decisions that shape our shared future,\u201d Youssouf said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Youth empowerment has been one of Youssouf\u2019s priorities since the campaign for leadership of the AUC.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Youssouf reaffirmed a commitment to translating that priority into practical opportunities for young Africans to participate, lead and contribute to the continent\u2019s development.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Youssouf said recognising the importance of young people is not enough. Governments and institutions must make sustained investments that enable youth to realise their potential. \u201cWe must move from speaking about young people to working with young people.
