About 8.79 million voters are registered for the poll. Fourteen candidates are contesting the Presidency, including Hakainde Hichilema, leader of the governing United Party for National Development (UPND), who is seeking a second term, and Brian Mundubile, the Presidential candidate of the opposition Tonse Alliance.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Speaking at the launch of the national results centre at Mulungishi International Convention Centre in Lusaka on Wednesday Electoral Commission&#8217;s Chairperson Mwangala Zaloumis said the opening marked its commitment to a smooth electoral process.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8221; The launch of the National Election Results Centre is therefore more than the opening of a physical facility. It represents the Commission&#8217;s commitment to ensuring that the process through which the presidential election results are announced is accessible to stakeholders and conducted with the seriousness it deserves.
