Speaking during the Fourth Session of the SA-Zimbabwe Bi-National Commission (BNC) in Pretoria on Friday, which was co-chaired by SA President Cyril Ramaphosa, Mnangagwa said Zimbabwe remains committed to improving the business environment for SA companies operating in the country. “Zimbabwe is committed to removing all the tariff and non-tariff barriers to trade,” Mnangagwa said.<\/p>\n

Mnangagwa also pledged to address concerns raised by South African businesses investing in Zimbabwe. “We are also ready to resolve the challenges faced by South African entities operating in Zimbabwe,” Mnangagwa said.<\/p>\n

Mnangagwa said Zimbabwe’s “Open for Business” policy is aimed at creating a more attractive investment environment and encouraging stronger economic partnerships across the region. “Our mantra, Zimbabwe is open for business, reflects our commitment to improve both the ease of doing business as well as forge cross-border investment partnerships,” Mnangagwa said.<\/p>\n

The remarks come as SA and Zimbabwe seek to deepen trade and investment relations through the BNC framework, with both countries identifying economic cooperation as a key priority.<\/p>\n

Zimbabwe is one of SA’s largest trading partners in the region, and leaders from both countries have committed to expanding commercial opportunities in sectors including agriculture, mining, energy, transport, tourism and digital technology.<\/p>\n

Mnangagwa also used the occasion to call on SA to advance development of the Museum of African Liberation in Zimbabwe. “Zimbabwe looks forward to SA taking steps to develop land allocated to it, the Museum of African Liberation in Zimbabwe,” Mnangagwa said.<\/p>\n

Mnangagwa described the museum as an important platform for preserving and showcasing the history of Africa’s liberation struggles. “The museum provides a unique platform to showcase the country’s heroic anti-apartheid struggle and its significant contribution to the liberation of African countries,” Mnangagwa said.<\/p>\n
