Central to the economic talks is crude oil transportation, specifically linking South Sudan&#8217;s energy sector to the newly launched $16 billion Dangote East Africa Petroleum and Petrochemicals Special Economic Zone at the Port of Lamu.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to Dennis Beru, Journalist and Team Leader at Grassroot Journalism Kenya, Kiir\u2019s political maneuvering raises significant questions ahead of the planned polls:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is ironical to see Kiir championing a peaceful election when key political opponents remain under arrest or face ongoing detention.
