{"id":47774,"date":"2026-10-11T15:52:06","date_gmt":"2026-10-11T13:52:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/?post_type=news&#038;p=47774"},"modified":"2026-10-11T15:52:27","modified_gmt":"2026-10-11T13:52:27","slug":"sa-education-department-calls-on-parents-to-support-learners-during-matric-exams","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/news\/sa-education-department-calls-on-parents-to-support-learners-during-matric-exams\/","title":{"rendered":"SA Education Department calls on parents to support learners during matric exams"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The South African (SA) Department of Basic Education (DBE) is calling on parents and communities to support learners and ensure that nothing disrupts the 2026 Matric examinations.<\/p>\n<p>SA Deputy Minister of Basic Education, Doctor Makgabo Reginah Mhaule, says the department is working with municipalities and other stakeholders to address challenges, including water supply disruptions in some areas.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a media briefing in Pretoria, Mhaule says collective efforts are needed to ensure learners can write their final examinations without unnecessary disruptions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are calling upon parents and communities to support this writing of the examination.
