{"id":48025,"date":"2026-10-15T10:06:00","date_gmt":"2026-10-15T08:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/?post_type=news&#038;p=48025"},"modified":"2026-10-15T10:06:00","modified_gmt":"2026-10-15T08:06:00","slug":"nigeria-raises-concern-over-mass-abductions","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/news\/nigeria-raises-concern-over-mass-abductions\/","title":{"rendered":"Nigeria raises concern over mass abductions"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The Nigerian High Commission (NHC ), says it&#8217;s concerned over the continuing reports of mass abductions in Niger State, where families and communities have expressed anguish over the prolonged captivity of their loved ones.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The Commission on Thursday released its September report where it says it recorded over 3 38 000 human rights violations across its offices nationwide.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The NHC has further called on relevant security agencies to testify efforts towards securing affected communities, rescuing adopted persons and ensuring that perpetrators of these crimes are brought to justice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Executive Secretary at NHC, Tony Ojukwu says it should be noted that behind every complaint is a person, a family or a community whose rights may have been violate<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Ojukwu pointed out that it&#8217;s their responsibility as the Commission to ensure that the information they collect translates into meaningful action, effective remedies and stronger protection for all Nigerians.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Ojukwu says they have recorded 40 000 more cases.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">&#8211;ChannelAfrica&#8211;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":45909,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_members_access_role":[],"_members_access_error":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"news-type":[],"class_list":["post-48025","news","type-news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","entry"],"acf":{"short_description":"","published_date":"","news_description":"NHC concerned over continuing reports of mass abductions in Nigeria","form_embed":"","author":"","image_caption":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news\/48025","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/news"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news\/48025\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":48030,"href":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news\/48025\/revisions\/48030"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/45909"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=48025"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"news-type","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news-type?post=48025"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
