South Africa's suspended police sergeant Fannie Nkosi will remain at the Kgosi Mampuru prison after his bail application was dismissed in the Pretoria North Magistrates court.
Magistrate Thandi Theledi found that following his suspension, Nkosi didn't return all ...the police issued live ammunition and firearms, and that he acquired them unlawfully.
The court found he may interfere with witnesses if released.

He is the only African contender seeking to succeed Secretary-General António Guterres, whose term ends later this year.
The ...UN is conducting formal interviews, known as interactive dialogues, as part of the selection process.
Other candidates include Costa Rican diplomat Rebeca Grynspan, Argentinian nuclear agency chief Rafael Grossi, and Chilean diplomat Michelle Bachelet.
