Three Nigerian nationals have been denied entry into South Africa, reportedly over "insulting" social media posts and were later returned to Lagos following diplomatic intervention.
The trio, who had valid tourist visas and planned to spend the Easter period in ...the country, were flagged during secondary inspection at the airport over inconsistencies they could not sufficiently explain.
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, which assisted in their return, has since urged Nigerian travellers to use official or licensed visa channels, verify all application details, and carry supporting documents. It also warned that online activity can influence immigration decisions.
