South Africa's member of Parliament and leader of the National Coloured Congress Fadiel Adams has been remanded in custody until 13 May.
The Lawmaker, made his first appearance in the Pinetown Magistrate's Court today. He faces five charges linked to the ...alleged interference in the high-profile murder investigation of former ANC party Youth League secretary-general Sindiso Magaqa.
The case was handled by the now disbanded KwaZulu-Natal Political Killings Task Team.
The State alleges that between November 2024 and January 2025, Adams unlawfully met and interviewed accused persons connected with the murder case while they were in custody.
In postponing the matter, Magistrate Wendalyn Robinson ordered that Adams not to disclose his detention location.

South Africa's Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni has issued a strong warning against criminality linked to undocumented foreign nationals.
Speaking during a post-Cabinet media briefing, Ntshavheni addressed growing public concern over illegal ...immigration and rising tensions in some parts of the country.
She stressed that while undocumented migrants are expected to regularise their status, government's primary concern is the conduct of those involved in serious crimes, including drug dealing, violent enforcement of control in communities, and the targeting of South Africans and their businesses.
